The island

With guaranteed year round sunshine, the island of Sal is fast becoming a perfect beach holiday destination.

The Porto Antigo apartments are situated in the town of Santa Maria. The front line complex overlooks 8 km of white sanded beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters. The beach is a mecca for windsurfing, kite surfing and diving. Game fishing for tuna,wahoo and swordfish are locally available.

Sal is an important nesting ground for loggerhead turtles, and humpback wales feed in the islands waters.

The town of Santa Maria offers a mixture of West African and Portuguese culture with friendly, colourful locals. Pretty pastal painted houses of pink, yellow and blue overlook quaint cobblestone streets.

Santa Maria has a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants, with local seafood a speciality. All a few minutes, and level walk away from the apartments.

On the quay side of Porto Antigo 1 complex, by the large swimming pool is Papaya's bar and restaurant, with panoramic sea views and lovely sunsets.

With an international airport, and direct flights from the UK, Sal is a great new destination to explore.
